Practice Overview

Emilio Rojo is an associate attorney in Hoge Fenton’s Corporate and Business Law Practice Group. Emilio’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, assisting clients with forming business entities, and corporate governance.

Prior to joining the firm, Emilio was an in-house legal intern at DocuSign, Inc. On the commercial team, he worked extensively on updating the MSA Playbook, analyzing redlining data, and internal feedback on reducing friction points. Emilio presented updates on the European Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC’s) to the Privacy Team. Working with the product team, Emilio helped build a webpage on Remote Online Notary by researching current notary laws in over 20 states.

Emilio was also a legal intern at Ironclad, Inc, working alongside the general counsel and legal team in a fast-paced start-up environment.  He assisted with redlining agreements, reviewing ESAs and NDAs for improvements, and compiling data on the contracting process.

Background

Emilio received his J.D. and MBA from the University of San Francisco Schools of Law & Management on the Kenneth O. Lloyd Scholarship. He was a member of the Moot Court Program for four years and served as Executive Director of the Moot Court Board in 2022. Emilio competed on and coached USF’s Professional Football Negotiation Competition Contract Negotiation Team in 2021 and 2022 and earned the “Best Negotiator” award in USF’s internal competition. As a moot court member, he wrote a 30-page bench memorandum on privacy rights in cell phone screens via Riley v California. Emilio also served on the board of APALSA for two years as Professional Development Chair, Treasurer, and Academic Chair. He obtained his undergraduate from Sonoma State University where he served as a Board Member of the Filipino American Association (FAASSU). Emilio is currently a member of the California State Bar.
