Nikki Docherty is a member of Hoge Fenton’s Business Litigation, Real Estate and Land Use, and Intellectual Property practice groups. Nikki is passionate about leveraging her litigation skills to help companies strategically grow while reducing their risk. Nikki has experience with complex business litigation in both federal and state courts, intellectual property matters including trademark registration and infringement, data privacy issues such as GDPR compliance and privacy-by-design strategies, and contract negotiation and drafting. Nikki is a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the United States. A growing area of Nikki’s practice is advising clients on artificial intelligence, data privacy, digital innovation, and regulatory compliance.
Nikki graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she was the Associate Development Editor of the High Technology Law Journal. She was President of the Internet Law Student Organization, Vice President of the Privacy Law Student Organization, and Founding Treasurer of the Society of Interactive Entertainment & Gaming Law. She also participated in Santa Clara University, School of Law’s Entrepreneurs’ Law Clinic, where she supported non-profits and early-stage start-up companies with employment and intellectual property matters.
Nikki was an intern at both Palo Alto Networks and Oracle, where she gained valuable experience working for a technology companies, supporting their respective technology transactions, litigation, and employment legal teams. She also served as a judicial law clerk in Santa Clara County Superior Court for the Honorable Judge Socrates Manoukian.
