Jonathan J. O’Brien

Practice Overview

Jonathan is an associate attorney in Hoge Fenton’s Corporate and Business Law Practice Group. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, assisting clients with forming business entities, and corporate governance. Jonathan also drafts and negotiates Purchase and Sale Agreements for Commercial Real Estate, produces transaction timelines, and drafts lease agreements.

Before joining the firm, Jonathan interned as a summer law clerk with Hoge Fenton in 2022 before coming on full-time in 2023. He drafted memoranda on a variety of corporate and real estate matters to be used in client communications involving the dissolution of a corporation, contract disputes, and zoning issues. Jonathan also gained valuable experience as a law clerk at Ramsbacher Prokey Leonard LLP and was an assistant to an academic advisor at Chabot College.

Background

Jonathan received his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law with a Corporate Law Specialization. He was an Emery Merit Law Scholar and earned recognition on the Dean’s List. Jonathan also earned his High Tech Law Certificate and competed in the Internal Moot Court (HMCI). HMCI is a highly selective honors internal competition in which students brief legal issues and argue on appeal before the Supreme Court of the United States.
