Alison Buchanan Appointed Incoming Chair of the California Lawyers Association Ethics Committee

We are pleased to announce that Alison Buchanan, Shareholder, and Chair of the Business Litigation Practice Group for Hoge Fenton, has been appointed incoming Chair of the California Lawyers Association (CLA) Ethics Committee.  Alison is a founding member and Vice-Chair of Publications for the CLA Ethics Committee.  Alison’s tenure as Chair will begin at the conclusion of the CLA’s Annual Meeting on September 25, 2021.

The CLA Ethics Committee is comprised of some of the top legal ethics attorneys in California. The Committee provides feedback and comment on proposed opinions, rules and legislation impacting attorney ethics and professionalism; writes advisory opinions on ethical issues where guidance is needed; develops educational content on ethics issues impacting the entire profession; acts as a resource to Sections and the CYLA who provide practice area-specific ethics content; and works closely with both internal and external ethics groups, including the California State Bar’s Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct (COPRAC) and county bar associations.
