Meet Our Advisors

Marva Diaz is a public affairs and government relations professional with 25 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, including non-profits, corporations, and business associations. Marva specializes in California politics to effect change on the local and statewide levels by utilizing issue advocacy and campaign tactics. She served as a leadership staff member in the California State Capitol for over 12 years, managing the political affairs program for a prominent business association, and collaborating on the strategic planning of over 600 campaigns in multiple states ranging from internal corporate campaigns to ballot propositions to legislative campaigns.
Tino Rossi has helped Fortune 100 companies, trade associations, and statewide ballot measure campaigns craft diverse coalitions and effective messages that move voters and impact public opinion on the state’s most complex issues. Most notably, Tino has been an integral part of multiple successful statewide ballot measure fights, historic legislative negotiations, and prominent regional and statewide public affairs campaigns. As the Director of Public Affairs for Swing Strategies, Tino’s portfolio requires him to be a subject-matter expert on issues ranging from tax, agricultural, and water policy to gambling, land use, logistics, and labor regulations.
Hon. Catharine B. Baker is a former California State Assemblymember who represented the 16th Assembly District from 2014 through 2018. She is a Commissioner with the California Fair Political Practices Commission, which administers and enforces California’s landmark government ethics laws. Catharine is Special Counsel at Hoge Fenton, where she advises businesses and non-profits and practices election law. During her legislative tenure, Catharine was an independent, bipartisan voice in the Legislature, fostering breakthroughs in significant legislation, particularly on transportation, the environment, and government accountability.
