INTA’s Annual Leadership Meeting from November 14-17, 2023 is an invitation-only event for their Board and members who volunteer on committees and project teams. Stephanie will be speaking on the panel: Is Data an IP Right? Best Practices and Risk Mitigation to Protect this Valuable Asset, on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. She will explore whether data is an IP asset in the expanding data economy—focusing on the issues of the ownership vs. control of data, touching upon various policy and legal frameworks, and suggesting best practices and risk mitigation for data collection and use when drafting contracts, licensing agreements, settlement agreements, and website terms and conditions. Monique Couture, Partner at Gowling WLG (Canada) will be moderating the discussion.
