The Silicon Valley Real Estate Breakfast: An Update on Developing Downtown San Jose

By Hoge Fenton | 09.6.2023 | Firm Post

It’s been three years since we last got Silicon Valley’s premier developers together to examine the real estate market in Downtown San Jose.

Hoge Fenton hosted our Silicon Valley Real Estate Breakfast on September 6, 2023, at the Silicon Valley Capital Club in Downtown San José. We were excited to get the band back together for an update on the current status of projects and market projections.

Sean Cottle, real estate shareholder at Hoge Fenton, moderated our discussion Erik Hayden of Urban Catalyst Fund, Gary Dillabough of Urban Community Fund, Matt Lituchy of Jay Paul Company, and Ted McMahon of Bayview Development Group. The panelists reflected on where they were in August 2020 and offered an update on the current progress of their projects as well as their real estate market expectations.

Our notable panelists predicted that downtown San Jose will escape the “doom loop” setting and that the city is showing signs of life, yet a full recovery will take a year or two.

George Avalos, Business Reporter for the Bay Area News Group, attended our event and published an excellent article this morning collecting and summarizing the presentation. Read the full San Jose Mercury News article here.
