By Hoge Fenton | 09.7.2021 | Firm Post

Hoge Fenton is very proud to announce that Shella Deen, Shareholder and Firmwide Litigation Chair, has been appointed to the Santa Clara County Superior Court Bench.

Governor Gavin Newsom announced eight new Superior Court judge appointments in the greater Bay Area on Friday, September 3, 2021.

The appointments, among 22 made statewide on Friday to fill vacant seats, include two in Contra Costa County, one in Monterey County, one in San Mateo County, three in Santa Clara County, and one in Solano County.

Shella Deen has been a Shareholder at Hoge, Fenton, Jones & Appel Inc. since 1998, where she has held several positions since 1991, including Firmwide Litigation Chair. She was a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales at Terence St. J. Millett Solicitors from 1986 to 1989. She earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Buckingham. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Joshua Weinstein.

“It has been a privilege to work with Shella ever since we were green peas,” said Hoge Fenton Managing Shareholder, Dan Ballesteros. “Shella will be another judicial great, following in the footsteps of Ron Whyte, Alden Danner, Bill Elfving, Peter Kirwan, Maureen Folan, and Jim Towery among many others! Congratulations on a well-deserved appointment!”
