Rebuilding Together

By Hoge Fenton | 05.3.2023 | Community Involvement

Hoge Fenton attorneys Maria Salinas Mendoza and Sara Shapero, along with paralegal Lydia Thanh and legal assistant Leo Ayala volunteered with the non-profit Rebuilding Together to help a community member who came to the United States as a refugee after the Fall of Saigon in hopes of a better future. The ladies of Hoge Fenton pulled through and learned how to paint a home.

National Rebuilding Month is an annual month-long call to service in April that culminated in National Rebuilding Day on the month’s last Saturday (April 29). Throughout April, Rebuilding Together affiliates and volunteers provided essential health and safety home repairs to veterans, older adults, families, and disaster survivors. Rebuilding Together offers these renovations at no cost to neighbors in need, who frequently have limited finances and must choose food and medicine over crucial housing repairs.

“We had such an amazing time and met some wonderful people. We can’t wait to do it again!”
– Lydia Thanh, Business Litigation Paralegal
