Alison P. Buchanan is a California Certified Legal Specialist in Legal Malpractice Law

The State Bar of California’s Board of Legal Specialization has certified Alison Buchanan as a Certified Specialist in the area of Legal Malpractice Law. Certification is limited to those attorneys who have demonstrated – through experience, education, and a rigorous full-day examination – specialized knowledge and proficiency in a specific field of law.
Managing shareholder, Daniel W. Ballesteros, said, “We congratulate Alison on this achievement. She is a skilled and fearless trial lawyer who is very deserving of this recognition.”
Alison is a regular and sought-after speaker and teacher on the topics of professional liability/professional malpractice and legal ethics. She is currently serving a three-year appointment to the State Bar’s Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct (COPRAC). She is on the Executive Committee of The Bar Association of San Francisco’s Legal Malpractice Section and teaches Professional Responsibility at Lincoln Law School in San Jose.
Alison serves as Hoge Fenton’s Risk Manager and Associate General Counsel. She has also been recognized as a “Northern California Super Lawyer” as chosen by her peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics and San Francisco Magazine.
