Meet Our 2022 Summer Associates

By Hoge Fenton | 07.13.2022 | Firm Announcements

We are pleased to introduce our 2022 summer associates, Aisha Bilwani, Minae Seog, and Jonathan O’Brien. Our summer program, running from June 1st to July 29th, was highly competitive this year and each of these individuals were stand-out candidates from the very beginning. We are excited to have them work alongside our team to gain the mentorship and experience that will jumpstart their legal careers.

Shareholder Sean Cottle, of our Real Estate Practice Group, is managing the program and supervising our summer associates.  Attorney Laura Riparbelli (Business Litigation) is Aisha’s mentor, Attorney Remington Lenton-Young (Intellectual Property and Data Privacy Litigation) is Jonathan’s mentor, and Attorney Ashlee Cherry (Business Litigation) is Minae’s mentor.

  • Aisha Bilwani: Aisha is a second-year law school student (2L) at UC Hastings Law.  She worked as a legal assistant at two law firms prior to law school and spent her 1L summer externing for the Honorable Terry J. Hatter, Jr. of the U.S. District Court of the Central District of California.  Aisha wants to be a litigator and has interest in a wide number of practice areas (including business, real estate, employment, and data privacy).  She received her undergraduate degree from UCLA and is fluent in Urdu and Hindi.
  • Minae Seog: Minae is a first-year law school student (1L) at UC Davis.  She comes to us via the Bay Area Minority Summer Clerkship Program.  Minae received an M.A. in Urban Education Policy & Administration from Loyola Marymount University and a B.A. in Government with a minor in Spanish from Dartmouth College.  She was a 7th grade math teacher for five years before she started law school.
  • Jonathan O’Brien: Jonathan is a 2L at Santa Clara University’s School of Law.  He spent his 1L summer clerking at Ramsbacher Prokey Leonard doing estate planning work.  Jonathan wants to be a litigator and is particularly interested in real estate work.  He received his undergraduate degree from UC Merced.  Prior to law school, Jonathan worked on a 46-acre almond ranch in the central valley and a 900-acre grass fed cattle ranch.
