Erica Hagelberg

Erica Hagelberg (they/them) is an attorney in the Employment Law Group. Prior to receiving their law degree, they were a Summer Law Clerk with Hoge Fenton.

Background

Erica graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law. During law school, Erica took on a pro bono asylum case through the Immigration Appellate Practice Clinic and presented oral arguments to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Erica was a CALI award recipient for Appellate Advocacy. This award is given to students who achieved the highest grade in the class. Erica was also a Semi-Finalist in SCU’s Honor’s Moot Court Internal competition. Additionally, Erica assisted clients in the Consumer Debt Clinic and was co-president of OUTLaw SCU.

Prior to embarking on a career in law, Erica was an operations manager who oversaw engineering and manufacturing projects, as well as supervised logistics, procurement, field technician, system administrator, and technical writer teams. Erica’s experiences managing people and navigating the breadth of laws affecting employees and employers motivated their desire to pursue a legal education and join the Employment Group here at Hoge Fenton.

Erica serves as a board member of Levitt Pavilion San Jose, a non-profit organization cultivating community connection through free live concerts and building a permanent performance venue in St. James Park.
