Speakers Steven Kahn and Marcus Brown

Steven Kahn is a shareholder in Hoge, Fenton, Jones & Appel’s Tri-Valley office.  Steven’s practice focuses on real estate and business litigation, title insurance coverage, escrows, and real estate transactions. He represents individuals, families, businesses, real estate developers, regional and national lenders, title insurers, escrow companies, and real estate professionals throughout Northern California.  Steven regularly handles all phases of litigation, including trials, arbitrations, appeals, and mediations. He has litigated and provided counsel to his clients on a wide variety of issues, including: title insurance coverage; escrow procedures and best practices; real estate transaction nondisclosure; defense of real estate professionals; 1031 exchanges; boundary disputes; easements; encroachments; priorities of title and lien priority disputes; and mechanic’s liens.  Steven also sits on the Advisory Board of Santa Clara University’s Alexander Community Law Center, in San Jose.

Marcus Brown is a real estate and litigation attorney in Walnut Creek, California, handling transactions and disputes on residential and commercial properties. A native Oregonian, Marcus attended Middle Tennessee State University (B.S., cum laude ’02) and Seattle University School of Law (J.D., cum laude ’05), where he received the school’s Presidential Scholarship and worked for the Federal Trade Commission. In 2007, Marcus relocated to the Bay Area, where he joined Plastiras & Terrizzi (San Rafael) and then Wolfe & Wyman LLP (Irvine/Walnut Creek). He opened his solo practice in Walnut Creek in 2015. Marcus has been peer-reviewed rated AV Preeminent since 2011 and as a Rising Star (Super Lawyers) in 2015 and 2016. He is a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association, serving on the board of the Real Estate Section and the Editorial Board.

ONE HOUR OF MCLE CREDIT WILL BE GIVEN.

Cost of lunch is $35 for members, $50 for non-members and $30 for staff.  Payment is collected at the door.
