Practice Overview
John Adams is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. He focuses on all aspects of general civil and business litigation, including real estate, construction and intellectual property disputes.
Background
John graduated with distinction from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law where he was a member of the Anthony M. Kennedy American Inn of Court and served as Associate Articles Editor for the Pacific McGeorge Global Business & Development Law Journal. John also externed for the Hon. Garland E. Burrell, Jr. in the United States District Court, Eastern District of California and taught written and oral advocacy skills to second-year law students in the McGeorge Appellate and International Advocacy Program.
Prior to law school, John was a journalist, most recently as the Sunday Sports Editor for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Representative Matters
- won summary judgment for distributor in suit for breach of contract and secured affirmation of judgment in appeal to U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit
- negotiated favorable settlement for tenant in commercial lease dispute
- defense of a large public open space district in dispute over easements and water rights
- defense of individual against allegations of embezzlement
- successfully represented business in action to enforce terms of settlement agreement
- successfully defended real estate broker in license revocation action by Department of Real Estate
- advised equity compensation consulting firm regarding guidelines and requirements for securing confidential data

John is an active member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association and International Trademark Association (INTA).
